Outfitter CabOver Break
It appears the break is due to the
Filon curing process and not due to
any structural defects!
Outfitter is a world class operation which
Harry recommends!!! Outfitter
actually inquired to me to fix the Filon crack…I did not ask Outfitter to
fix but they contact me in advance..I call that going the extra mile for their
customers. I do not think any other camper manufactures would offer this great
service or stand behind their products the way Outfitter does. Those deciding
on which pop up manufacturer to go with should take in consideration the
excellent service provided by Outfitter. They should also seek out the real
facts concerning any extended bed structural problems that may exist. To my
knowledge there are no issues.
Below is an excerpt from an email I received from Outfitter concerning
this crack.

Bob,
I must say you REALLY stand behind your
product !
I would like to get the panel replaced
if possible as I keep this Apex in immaculate condition. People tell me all the
time this is the nicest looking camper they have ever seen. I would like to
keep it that way.
Sure I could repair the crack and
probably make it almost unnoticeable but again I would rather it be replaced.
I am willing to drive my rig to Co. and
have you replace the panel if it could be arraigned to be turned around in a
day or 2. I have vacation planned in August and could come out your way then.
If and until such time should I make a
temporary fix by drilling a 1/4" hole at the end of the crack and silicone
the crack?
Thanks
Harry

Harry
I was on rvnet reading all the
posts and found yours, so I thought I would see if we could help you with your
problem. First I would drill a small hole at the end of the crack , that should
stop it from getting any worse. Then I would seal it up with silicone.
About 2% of the Filon
they put too much hardener in the glass and it cracks. Its just because
when we bend the glass there and there is too much hardener it cracks. Filon
will warranty the problem but only if we fix it here, since we are the only
manufacture to use this particular product, they want it to be repaired by us.
So if you are ever in Co. Let me know and we will take care of it. If you want
to call me please do. 1-877-223-0814 Bob Ward
