The Redondo Beach Municipal Code states that the Noise Control Officer for the City is the Chief of Police or his designee. Below is the code section for verification. “Noise Control Officer (NCO)” shall be the Chief of Police or his delegated representative. The NCO shall have the lead responsibility for the enforcement of the provisions of this chapter. Code Enforcement is a division of the Planning Department charged with enforcing provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and other applicable Municipal Codes. Should you have any questions about this, I encourage you to call me directly at 310-372-1171 extension 2418. I have forwarded this e-mail to the Chief of Police, City Attorney, and the Risk Manager. If you have any questions regarding the issues that you have noted, please contact them and refrain from contacting my staff. Should you have questions about Code Enforcement or wish to forward land use complaints, please contact me directly so that we can discuss them Mike Magdaleno Municipal Enforcement Manager City of Redondo Beach. >>> "Harry" 6/10/2008 10:28 PM >>> Redondo Beach Code Enforcement Staff, I would like to officially know what the City of Redondo Beach’s code enforcement policy is concerning the violation of the cities noise ordinance. In particular the concern is the Redondo Beach Beryl Street Gun Firing Range. It would be in your best interest to be most cooperative in this matter. Not responding to this email in a quick timely matter will only make things worse for the city of Redondo. I highly suggest your city refrains from thinking the way to get around the recently discovered lead issue is to simply start up shooting other forms of ammunition. There is also a noise issue that affects local residence and will be addressed shortly at the state level. If this is not considered your departments responsibility please feel free to let me know what department can be of some help in this matter. Thanks Harry Stuver (310)371-5696 GetTheLeadOut@Stuver.com
