Jennifer,

Please forward to Mr. Webb and have him give me a call.

We also would like Mr. Webb to clarify a quote from Redondo Police Lt. Hoffman which was included in the DTSC report.

In the report Lt. Hoffman was quoted as saying the residents can “Go pound sand” concerning this matter.

I have tried to reach Lt. Hoffman to clarify this but neither Lt. Hoffman nor anyone at the PD will comment and have instructed me to contact Mr. Webb.

I am scheduling  meetings with  State Senator Oropeza , Assemblyman Ted Leu, County Supervisor Don Knabb  and other elected officials.

Also we are releasing to the media all of the documentation and details surrounding this issue.

I look forward to some type of response ASAP from Mr. Webb.

Again I can be reached at….

Subject: Redondo Police Firing Range Ammo

Mr. Webb,

My name is Harry Stuver and I am with the Concerned Citizens Against Pistol Range Redondo (CRAPRR).

Yesterday 10/28/2009 there was yet once again shooting taking place at the Redondo Beach Police Firing Range on Beryl St.

The shooting started at 3:00pm and the noise level was at a lowered level. Around 4:30pm the noise level greatly increased to an unbearable level.

I made a trip to the range to ascertain what type of ammunition was being used. At 5:00pm I spoke to Officer Delery who was entering the range. I asked to speak with the range master. I was informed there was no range master on duty. I then asked to speak to the officer in charge. I was advised by Officer Delery that no one that was currently in the range would speak to me and I was advised I need to speak to Lt. Hoffman.

I called Lt. Hoffman at 5:20pm and left a voice mail. The following morning on 10/29/2009 Lt. returned my phone call and advised me I would need to speak to the city attorney Michael Webb.

So my question is what exact ammo are your officers shooting at the time in question?

Can you please provide the community information on the ammunition being used and some way for the community to confirm said ammunition is being used?

Our concern is any ammunition claims must be verified at the commencement of training. We simply cannot trust the city’s word  as the plethora of lies, deceptions and accusations surrounding the issues are utterly unbelievable .

As we move forward in this matter I want to assure you the intentions of the community is not to closed down the training facility but to have the facility enclosed as to mitigate any noise and safety issues.

It is most unfortunate that your city fails to do all it can to ensure the health and safety of nearby students and residents.

Thanks

Harry Stuver
